The weather outlook for the coming days could be seen as monotonous — but delightfully so.

That’s as each day right through Saturday on Long Island was expected to feature sunny or mostly sunny skies, with high temperatures mostly in the upper 70s to low 80s, and a bit cooler on the East End, forecasters say.

With overnight Wednesday bringing a chance of showers and thunderstorms, Thursday benefits from “high pressure building into the region from the west,” meaning a “dry, breezy and warm day,” the National Weather Service said.

The expectation was for temperatures to head up to the low 80s Thursday, with 76 normal for the day at Long Island MacArthur Airport.

Then dry conditions continue Friday, with temperatures a couple of degrees cooler, then back to the low 80s for Saturday, as the four-day U.S. Open golf tournament in Southampton goes into weekend play that finishes Sunday.

On Sunday, we see both higher humidity and higher temperatures, expected to warm up to the mid-80s or so, said Faye Morrone, weather service meteorologist in Upton.
