A drizzly overnight across Long Island will give way to a sunny Thursday with a high close to 70 degrees.

The National Weather Service said the overnight low will dip to 50 under mostly cloudy skies.

Thursday will be the only fully dry and sunny day of the week. The low will be about 48, forecasters said.

Rain could return Friday, when there is a 30% chance of showers, and a daytime high close to 60 degrees, with even more of a chance for rain as evening falls with a low of 47.

There showers could stick around through Saturday morning and late Saturday night, with breezy conditions for most of the day and a high in the mid-50s and a low of 43, the weather service said.

Sunday, the sun returns, along with those strong breezes, the weather service said, and a high close to 60 degrees and a low of 43.

The sunny stretch continues at least through Tuesday, and it should be warmer, with highs in the low to mid-60s predicted.
