Long Islanders should prepare to bundle up this weekend with the frigid temperatures dipping into low-20s late Saturday night on Suffolk's East End, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday's forecast calls for dry skies and temperatures in the low 40s, said meteorologist Brian Ciemnecki in the service's Upton office.

But temperatures will drop overnight into the low 30s and upper 20s along much of the Island and into the low 20s in the pine barrens, Ciemnecki said.

Sunday calls for slightly warmer temperatures, in the upper 40s and lower 50s, but clouds will increase later in the day and rain should begin to fall in the late evening and into Monday morning, he said.
