Picture perfect Memorial Day leads to unsettled week

After near-perfect conditions for the last two days of the long Memorial Day weekend, the weather for the rest of the week looks to be “unsettled,” meteorologists with the National Weather Service said Monday.
The forecast calls for frequent showers likely starting just after noon Tuesday and lingering through the night with possible thunderstorms, National Weather Service meteorologist Faye Morrone said. Temperatures Tuesday should be in the mid-60s and a couple degrees cooler further east.
“That’s below normal for this time of the year,” Morrone said. “A typical high at this time of the year is about 71.”
Conditions will dry out Wednesday morning but there is a chance of a shower or thunderstorm returning late in the day. Thursday will be cloudy with a chance for showers early and at night.
Clear, sunny skies return Friday and dominate the weekend, the weather service said.
