The National Weather Service issued a coastal flood statement advising of isolated minor tidal flooding during Friday's high tide cycle of "historically vulnerable locations."

The weather service identified those locations as New York Harbor, the western Long Island Sound shoreline, and Atlantic Ocean-facing beaches and back bays of the South Shore.

Tidal departures of about a half-foot are expected during high tide -- between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on the South Shore and between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on the North Shore.
