November nor'easter: What LI needs to know

SNOW CONDITIONS
The storm is expected to bring 2-4 inches of snow. Wind gusts of up to 60 mph around the island.
EVACUATIONS
Nassau county residents who live in flood zones are under mandatory evacuation order as the nor'easter raises the prospect of more flooding at high tide around 2:00 a.m.
LONG ISLAND RAIL ROAD
LIRR eastbound service has resumed on an "extremely limited" basis from Penn Station after being suspended for a second time today due to storm conditions. Westbound service is also operating on an "extremely limited" basis, with some trains skipping stations and systemwide delays.
ROAD CONDITIONS
Long Island Expressway has reopened but with icy conditions. The westbound lanes of the Northern State Parkway are closed due to a downed tree.
AIRPORTS
Area airports are open, but with delays and cancellations at JFK, LaGuardia, Newark and MacArthur due to weather.
Travelers should contact their airlines for information before going to any airport.
POWER
Power is out for approximately 192,733 LIPA customers, with 40,000 coming as a result of the nor'easter. (Note: Does not include Long Beach, Atlantic Beach, Fire Island and areas of the Rockaway Peninsula)

SCHOOLS
