Wednesday begins a stretch of days rich in sunshine, blue skies and warm temperatures, the National Weather Service said.
With daily highs in the mid 80s and light west winds across Long Island, the day starts a seven-day string of terrific summer weather, the service's Upton office said.
News 12 Long Island meteorologist Rich Hoffman said conditions over the next few days will be drier and more comfortable and that humidity levels are likely to rise going into the weekend.
Hoffman said winds could increase later in the day and that the UV (ultraviolet radiation) index would be high.
Beachgoers will find reasonably warm water temperatures, ranging from 72 to 77 degrees, Hoffman said.
Overnight lows could get into the low 60s.
Wednesday calls for more sunshine and daily highs in the low to mid 80s, he said.
