Potential for black ice during a.m. commute on LI
The National Weather Service is advising drivers of "the potential for black ice" on Long Island roadways during the Wednesday morning commute.
Below freezing temperatures and light precipitation overnight may cause the black ice, with "the greatest threat ... "on untreated surfaces," particularly on ramps, bridges and overpasses, the weather service said in a hazardous weather outlook.
There were no traffic alerts on major Long Island roads as of 8 a.m.
