As much as an inch of rain fell Saturday on Long Island, said the National Weather service, which had predicted possible minor tidal flooding on the South Shore in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Rainfall was expected to continue until about 7 p.m. in eastern Long Island Saturday's high temperature reached into the upper 60s, the weather service said.

A coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 9 p.m. Saturday.

Saturday night will be mostly cloudy, but will gradually become clear with a low around 46 degrees and winds of up to 14 miles per hour, the weather service said.

Sunny skies return Sunday, when the high temperature is forecast around 62 to 64 degrees and the low around 47 degrees.
