Early morning showers and thunderstorms rolled across Nassau and Suffolk on Tuesday morning, bringing much-needed rain.
The rain was followed by partial clearing and a 20 percent chance of isolated showers Tuesday afternoon, with temperatures in the low- to mid-60s, said Lauren Nash, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Upton.
Look for Wednesday to be dry with partly to mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers after midnight, with a slight chance of showers Thursday and Friday, according to the weather service.
Temperatures are expected to soar into the upper 70s as the week wears on, however.
On Tuesday afternoon look for winds between 10 and 15 mph.
