Saturday's clouds may obscure 'super moon'

Thick clouds Saturday night into Sunday morning will make it difficult to get a glimpse of the "super moon" tonight on Long Island.
"It may be tricky," said David Stark, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Upton. "Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the clouds are going to clear by tonight."
The supersized view of the moon is expected to occur Saturday night. It occurs when the moon is closest to the Earth, often producing a full moon that is bigger and brighter than usual.
Clouds will blanket the Island Saturday with high temperatures getting in the low 60s. There's a 20 percent chance of rain, too, as a cold front from the north moves through the area.
The skies aren't expected to clear until Sunday, when temperatures will be in the mid-60s and the sun will come out, Stark said.
The temperatures are normal for this time of year, he said.
