After a week of warmer than average temperatures, Long Island can expect to see a mild weekend and a return to seasonal temperatures.
Friday's high of 69 degrees set a record at Long Island MacArthur Airport, and Saturday will continue the warm temperatures with a high of 65, said Tim Morrin, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Upton office.
"We're a good 9 degrees above the average," Morrin said.
The skies will remain cloudy, with a 30 percent chance of rain after 1 p.m., until Sunday, when skies will be clear, he said.
The overnight low into Sunday will be about 41 degrees, with a more seasonal high of 56 and a low of 37 overnight into Monday.
