Severe thunderstorm warning expires

A severe thunderstorm warning for southwestern Nassau County has expired, this after a separate one for Suffolk County was canceled.
The National Weather Service had issued the warnings, each in effect until 4:15 p.m., saying that each storm could potentially bring large hail and winds as high as 60 mph.
One storm cell came across the Long Island Sound and hit the North Fork. A second cell clipped far southwestern Nassau County.
The National Weather Service had no immediate reports of damage.
