Looking forward to a long, relaxing Memorial Day weekend to make you forget about all that awful weather we had this winter on Long Island?
Well, forecasters at the National Weather Service have a bit of bad news for you.
They’re predicting a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday — and a chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday. All of which could make for a miserable Memorial Day weekend here.
The clouds are expected to roll into our area Friday, when temperatures reach the low 70s. The weather service said Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with a 20-percent chance of rain — and a high of just 69 degrees. Sunny skies are expected Sunday, when temperatures reach into the low 80s.
But there is a 30-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Memorial Day, forecasters said, with temperatures nearing 80 degrees.
