The endless winter of 2009-2010 looks like it'll bring yet more snow for at least the next couple of days, according to the National Weather Service.
Long Island is under a winter weather advisory until 10 p.m. Tuesday, with a second snow band Tuesday afternoon following on the heels of the snow this morning.
Rich Castro of the National Weather Service in Upton said another 1 to 3 inches could fall in Nassau County Tuesday afternoon, but that it should taper off about 3 p.m.
The same amount could fall in Suffolk, he said, with that snowfall lasting until about 6 p.m.
The weather service is warning Long Island commuters may see bands of "moderate to occasionally heavy snow" that could make travel difficult at times.
Wednesday's forecast is calling for scattered flurries, with highs in the upper 30s.

A blanket of wet snow fell overnight into Tuesday morning, dumping as much as 5 inches in some parts of northeastern Nassau County and making the Tuesday morning commute tenuous for many drivers.
"We received reports out of Oyster Bay of about 5 inches," said Castro, "and 5 also in Syosset and 4 in Woodbury."
Northeastern Suffolk County communities south of Smithtown Bay also reported the heaviest amounts of snow, Castro said, with Centerport recording 3.4 inches.
Other areas, especially on the South Shore and farther east, had snowfalls of between 1 and 3 inches, he said. Floral Park recorded 4.3 inches.
The snow, which fell in its first wave mostly between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m., made roadways slick, and there were several reports of minor accidents on major roadways. Most were one-car accidents causing delays of five to 10 minutes.
Such incidents also caused short delays of five minutes or less on several secondary roads, including a car sliding into a ditch on Nicolls Road, north of Middle Country Road, at about 8:30 a.m. in Suffolk County. At about the same time, a disabled vehicle on the eastbound Southern State in Roosevelt near Exit 21 blocked the left lane and caused similar delays.
No injuries had been reported because of the accidents.
