Long Islanders can expect warmer weather with mostly sunny skies on Saturday after a few days of cooler temperatures.

Temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s for most of the day with no winds, forecasters say, but it'll turn cool Saturday night as temperatures drop to the low to mid 40s, said Joe Pollina, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Upton.

Pollina stopped short of saying there won't be any cold days ahead, but said he expects temperatures next week to remain in the 70s.

Sunday will bring slightly warmer temperatures with sunny, clear skies and highs in the 70s, except for on the Twin Forks, where it will be slightly cooler, Pollina said.
