Highs of close to 60 degrees are forecast for Thursday, with parade goers seeing temperatures in the high 40s to 50 around the 9 a.m. kick-off time, said Brian Ciemnecki, weather service meteorologist based in Upton.
So, among the many blessings for which Long Islanders can express thanks, temperatures of about 10 degrees above normal can be included.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected Thursday, with a slight chance of drizzle.

Friday brings sun and clouds, with highs near 63, he said. That's also the record for the day at Long Island MacArthur Airport, which saw 63 degrees in 1999, according to weather service data.
