Flurries possible Thursday night, a sunny Friday on tap

After a morning that brought light snow and icy conditions, there remains a 30 to 40 percent chance, especially for the South Fork, for intermittent flurry and snow shower activity through midnight, forecasters said.
Friday is expected to be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 30s and the chance of a "passing flurry" at night, said Joe Pollina, National Weather Service meteorologist in Upton.
After a week that featured a nor'easter and leftover rainy, cloudy weather, Saturday and Sunday are expected to be mostly sunny, with highs in the lower 40s and mid-40s, respectively, he said.
The morning conditions caused some arriving flights at LaGuardia Airport to be delayed an average of close to an hour and a half, according to the Federal Aviation Administration website fly.faa.gov. The agency suggested that travelers check with their airlines for specific information on flights.
