Long Islanders can look forward to a weekend that’s set to bring sunny skies and temperatures warming up to the mid- to upper-50s, a few degrees cooler on the East End, forecasters say.
A dry weekend and, “overall, looking good for outdoor events and doing some yard work,” said Rich Hoffman, News 12 Long Island meteorologist.
Indeed, “a nice weekend to be outside,” said Carlie Buccola, National Weather Service meteorologist in Upton.
Still, those temperatures are a bit cooler than normal, with 60 degrees the normal high for this time of year at Long Island MacArthur Airport.
Overnight lows are expected in the upper 30s to low 40s, also missing the mark for normal, which is 42 to 43 degrees.
