Wet weather and then high heat are in the Long Island forecast, with thunderstorms possible through Wednesday night and daytime highs hovering near 90 degrees for the rest of the week.

There's a 30% chance of showers between 10 a.m. and noon Tuesday after a dry and cloudy overnight with patchy fog, the National Weather Service said.

Otherwise, partly sunny skies are on tap for Tuesday, when temperatures climb into the mid-80s, but there’s a 20% chance of thunderstorms at night.

Then the high heat and humidity makes another summer appearance.

The weather service said that Wednesday calls for mostly sunny skies with a high of 90. The heat index — the combination of heat and humidity — could make it feel closer to 100 in some areas.

There's a 30% chance of thunderstorms late Wednesday through the overnight, followed by a similar forecast for Thursday — when a high of about 92 degrees is predicted.

More heat is in the Friday and Saturday forecasts with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms and highs near 90.
