The Long Island Rail Road is experiencing up to 20-minute delays between Hicksville and Mineola due to weather-related power problems near Mineola, according to the MTA website.

The Ronkonkoma and Huntington/Port Jefferson branches are affected, the MTA's statement said.

Rain continues to drench Long Island, with thunderstorms and heavy rainfall expected today with highs in the lower 70s, according to the National Weather Service. A high surf advisory for all beaches facing the Atlantic Ocean remains in effect until 9 p.m. tonight.

The rain isn't expected to let up, either. Friday's forecast includes more heavy rain, humidity and temperatures in the upper 70s, the service said. Skies are expected to clear by Sunday.
