Long Islanders on Wednesday get a respite from rain — and chances of it — as the day was looking to bring mostly sunny skies and temperatures heading up to the mid-50s, forecasters said.
That’s as rain and showers re-enter the picture Thursday, followed by cloudy skies and breezy conditions for Friday.
If you can hang on for the weekend, mostly sunny skies Saturday and sunny skies Sunday are expected, the National Weather Service said as of late afternoon Tuesday.
For the most part, this stretch was expected to see the mid-50s for high temperatures — make that upper 50s for Sunday, the weather service said, with lows around the mid-30s, other than the low 40s expected early morning Thursday.
