Long Island goes back into rain mode Thursday, with the continuation of below-normal temperatures for this time of year, forecasters say.
Look for “another cool and wet day,” the National Weather Service said in its regional summary, “with light rain becoming likely across the area by early Thursday morning.”
Long Islanders can expect to awake to light rain lasting through midafternoon, and temperatures that were forecast to rise to the upper 40s, the weather service said late Wednesday afternoon. The upper 50s are considered normal at this point for Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma.
Friday will feature mostly sunny skies, warming up to the low 50s, but will feel a bit cooler because of winds from the northwest.
Saturday and Sunday are expected to bring sunny skies and highs in the low to mid-50s.
