Week 15 NFL Gridiron Guide and Fantasy Take
JETS (8-5) at EAGLES (5-8), 4:15 p.m.
TV: Ch. 2 Radio: ESPN (1050)
Eagles by 3; O/U: 44
Not sure of the last time a 5-8 home team has been favored by 3 points against an 8-5 visiting team. The Jets have never beaten Philly in eight career regular-season meetings. That changes Sunday. Philly has struggled at home (1-8 ATS last 9 home games). The Jets are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games as a road underdog with a spread of 3 or fewer points. Rex Ryan wins one in dad Buddy's old town.
THE PICK: Jets
FANTASY: Jets RB Shonn Greene has at least 90 total yards in three straight games.
REDSKINS (4-9) at GIANTS (7-6), 1 p.m.
TV: Ch. 5 Radio: WFAN (660)
Giants by 6 1/2; O/U: 46
This will be the 158th regular-season meeting of this storied rivalry. The G-Men saved their season in Dallas, and after such a critical game last week, I believe Big Blue is due for a slight letdown. The Giants (1-3-1 ATS last 5 home games) haven't won by a double-digit margin at home since Week 3. Skins are 5-1 ATS in last six vs. NFC East. THE PICK: Redskins
RONIS' FANTASY TAKE: Redskins WR Santana Moss is a good play against a Giants defense that is struggling against the pass. Redskins RB Roy Helu has three straight 100-yard rushing games
COWBOYS (7-6) at BUCS (4-9), Saturday, 8:20 p.m.
TV: NFL Network
Radio: WFAN (660)
Cowboys by 7; O/U: 47
From icing their own kicker to last week's meltdown, it's been a cold December for the Cowboys. Luckily, they get the reeling Bucs, who have been ice-cold the last two months. THE PICK: Cowboys
FANTASY: Dallas RB Felix Jones (137 total yards last week) faces Tampa (19 rushing TDs allowed).
PACKERS (13-0) at CHIEFS (5-8)
Packers by 13 1/2; O/U: 46
Watching the Pack the last season-and-a-half reminds me of the '07 Pats. The perfect season continues. THE PICK: Packers
FANTASY: The injury to Packers WR Greg Jennings should give TE Jermichael Finley more targets.
SEAHAWKS (6-7) at BEARS (7-6)
Bears by 3 1/2; O/U: 36
No Jay Cutler and no Matt Forte equals tough times in Chicago, but they'll find a way to get it done this week. THE PICK: Bears
FANTASY: The Bears rank 10th against the run, but still start Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch.
DOLPHINS (4-9) at BILLS (5-8)
OFF (Miami QB ques.); O/U: OFF
Miami had been one of NFL's hottest teams until last week's hiccup against Philly. The Bills have lost six straight, but something tells me to go with the home team here. THE PICK: Bills
FANTASY: Dolphins RB Reggie Bush has two straight 100-yard rushing games. Bills RB C.J. Spiller will have a tough time.
PANTHERS (4-9) at TEXANS (10-3)
Texans by 6 1/2; O/U: 45 1/2
Congrats to Houston for clinching its first ever playoff berth (and division title) last week. Cam Newton and Carolina will get there soon. THE PICK: Panthers
FANTASY: Texans' 'D' is tough, but you should still start Newton.
SAINTS (10-3) at VIKINGS (2-11)
Saints by 6 1/2; O/U: 51
Who's having the best season no one is talking about? Drew Brees. The Saints QB has thrown for 4,368 yards, the most ever in the first 13 games of an NFL season. THE PICK: Saints
FANTASY: Vikings WR Percy Harvin is a must-start: 38 catches and five TDs the last five games.
TITANS (7-6) at COLTS (0-13)
Titans by 6 1/2; O/U: 41
Titans have two QBs dinged up: Matt Hasselbeck (calf) and rookie Jake Locker (chest). The Colts have covered two straight and this may be their only shot to avoid 0-16. THE PICK: Colts
FANTASY: Titans RB Chris Johnson has a favorable matchup vs. the Colts' 30th-ranked run 'D'. They've allowed 18 rushing TDs.
BENGALS (7-6) at RAMS (2-11)
Bengals by 6 1/2; O/U: 40
Cincy (6-1-1 ATS last 8 road games) should have a big bounce-back game against the NFL's worst offense (11.8 ppg) and ATS team (2-11). THE PICK: Bengals
FANTASY: Bengals RB Cedric Benson will have a big day against Rams' last-ranked rush defense.
PATRIOTS (10-3) at BRONCOS (8-5), 4:15 p.m.
Patriots by 6 1/2; O/U: 46
All anyone can talk about is Denver's QB. But he's getting too much pub, so I'm not mentioning the Heisman Trophy winner's name. Denver has a solid running game and a tough 'D'. But that 'D' is facing Sideline Screamer Tom Brady and the Pats, who have scored 30-plus in six straight. I did it! No Tim Tebow reference. Oops! THE PICK: Patriots
FANTASY: Tebow goes against the worst-ranked pass defense and WR Demaryius Thomas has 11 catches for 222 yards and three TDs the last two weeks.
LIONS (8-5) at RAIDERS (7-6), 4:05 p.m.
Lions by 1; O/U: 48
Looking forward to this game; two teams desperately trying to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Lions, with DL Ndamukong Suh back, will stomp -- not literally -- to a win. THE PICK: Lions
FANTASY: Raiders RB Michael Bush hasn't been great lately, but he's a good bet for more than 20 touches every week.
BROWNS (4-9) at CARDINALS (6-7), 4:15 p.m.
Cardinals by 7; O/U: 37
I can't believe I'm typing this, but one of the hottest teams in the NFL is the Cardinals (8-5 ATS), who have won 5 of 6 and have covered 6 of last 7. Maybe it's in the Cards. THE PICK: Cardinals
FANTASY: Cardinals RB Beanie Wells will thrive against the Browns' 31st-ranked defense.
RAVENS (10-3) at CHARGERS (6-7), 8:20 p.m.
TV: Ch. 4. Radio: WFAN (660)
Ravens by 2 1/2; O/U: 44 1/2
Ray Lewis should be back for the Ravens, who try to cool down Philip Rivers, the best December QB (22-2) in the Super Bowl era. THE PICK: Ravens
FANTASY: You can't sit Chargers RB Ryan Mathews (363 yards on 55 carries the last three games).
STEELERS (10-3) at 49ERS (10-3), Monday, 8:30 p.m.
OFF (Steelers QB ques.); O/U: OFF; TV: ESPN Radio: WFAN (660)
This game is tricky because of the injured ankle of Steelers QB Ben Roethisberger, who did not practice yesterday. However, I think Big Ben plays in this prime-time worthy game. THE PICK: Steelers
FANTASY: If Roethlisberger sits, downgrade Steelers WRs.
