West Babylon session tonight to aid people affected by Sandy
An informational meeting for people affected by superstorm Sandy is being held tonight in West Babylon.
Community organizations Neighbors Supporting Neighbors Babylon Inc. and Adopt-A-House are hosting the event at West Babylon Junior High School from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The meeting is targeted toward residents who may not be aware of available resources and will feature former North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman, who was appointed by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo as the special adviser for Long Island storm recovery.
Representatives from the following organizations will be available: FEMA, NY Rising, United Way of Long Island, Health & Welfare Council of Long Island, Island Harvest, Long Island Volunteer Center, Adelante of Suffolk County, Family Service League, Catholic Charities, Project Hope and Long Island Cares.
In addition, Pro Source will be on hand to answer questions about applications for NY Rising assistance.
