Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-Mineola) will host a workforce event Tuesday to highlight ways residents can get training to start new careers.

The free event is from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Westbury Public Library, 445 Jefferson St. and is open to the public.

Representatives from the U.S. Department of Labor and the workforce development agency, Hempstead Works, will discuss current job trends and what career changers or new job seekers can expect from the process.

Adelphi and Hofstra universities and Nassau Community College representatives will talk about available job training and certificate programs.

Anyone planning to attend should RSVP by calling McCarthy’s district office at 516-739-3008 or by emailing Jessica.Montgomery@mail.house.gov.
