Westchester plane crash search turns up human remains
Police officers searching for the wreckage of a small airplane that vanished in a New York reservoir have found human remains as well as items from the plane such as a laptop bag, authorities said.
A New York City Department of Environmental Protection spokesman said Saturday the search is continuing in the Titicus Reservoir in North Salem, in Westchester County.
Adam Bosch said the 1971 Beechcraft Bonanza was headed for Danbury, Connecticut, on Thursday when it lost radar contact.
The Journal News reported that Eric Horsa of Ridgefield, Connecticut, identified the pilot as his father, Val Horsa, of South Salem. Horsa said his father and stepmother, Taew Horsa, were on board.
Bosch said searchers were walking the perimeter of the reservoir, surveying by helicopter and using sonar.
