Your editorial entitled, "Boggling numbers on school spending" [May 27] not only failed to answer your own questions, but raised a few. Why does Utah spend so little money, while ranking so high nationally? How many students are there, on average, in each school district? Fewer school districts mean fewer administrators, along with their accompanying assistants.

Utah has a population that is 57 percent Mormon, meaning that it is less diverse than New York City or Long Island. How does that affect the costs that Utah schools must deal with?
