CAR CRASHES INTO STORE. A 1997 Hyundai SUV crashed through the front window of Prestige Marble and Tile in Freeport Thursday morning after it was hit by Toyota SUV that swerved to avoid a “large truck” that was illegally stopped in the road, Freeport police said.
The drivers and passengers of both vehicles were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries and no one was injured in the store, police said.
“I saw the whole thing,” said Brad Brocking, 44, of Copiague, a customer who was in the store at the time. “Luckily, they didn’t come too far into the store — only about two feet.” --BRITTANY WAIT
