What we like / don't like about the Islanders

Preseason schedule. The team drastically cut the travel time from last September. The split-squad games and cramped schedule hampered the team's ability to prepare and evaluate.

Uncertain future. Although owner Charles Wang declared that the Islanders will stay on Long Island until the expiration of their lease in 2015, the team's destination after that is anyone's guess.

Offensive holes. The Islanders need more legitimate goal-scorers. The loss of Kyle Okposo will make this even more apparent.
