Where the celebs stay in Southampton

A famed Southampton celebrity hideaway is no longer a best kept secret.

The Village Latch Inn & Villas has had such guests as Al Gore, Joe Biden, Michael J. Fox, Sarah Jessica Parker, Dennis Quaid, John Stamos, Carly Simon and Fran Dresher. The inn has also hosted guests for celebrity weddings, from the Kennedy-Lawford wedding to Matt Lauer and Annette Roque’s nuptials.

This boutique hotel, located at 101 Hill St., was built more than a century ago. Created and run by artists, it is furnished by Burmese puppets, New Guinea masks, African artifacts and Tibetan rugs.

The main house, located on five acres, has a total of 40 guestrooms and suites. It had once been known as the Grand Annex to the Gatsby-style Irving Hotel.

Along with the Main House, the inn has several villas. The Terry Cottage is a 10-bedroom villa, including suites a kitchen, and a living and dining room with fireplaces. All rooms have private baths, and some have private decks.

The Homestead East is an eight-bedroom villa, with a country kitchen with fireplace and a Moroccan-style living room.

Homestead West is a five-bedroom villa, with various suite combinations.

The inn, located near the village of Southampton, also boasts a pool, free tennis, continental breakfast and special arrangements for guests at the famed Radu Fitness Studio.
