Who's the top seed in Suffolk Class B?
Often times seeding is clear cut. That's not the case in Suffolk Class B. Wyandanch defeated Center Moriches, 62-55, this afternoon to create chaos in the the class. Kim Weathers had 31 points, seven rebounds, six steals and five assists. Dejanae Mike had 17 points, including five in the final two minutes.
Mattituck is 8-2, Center Moriches is 8-2 and Wyandanch is 7-2. If the Warriors win against Babylon Wednesday, all three teams will be tied for first and they all split winning the home games. The top seed gets a bye into the championship game, while No. 2 hosts No. 3 on Feb. 19.

If we go by non-league strength of schedule, it should be: 1. Wyandanch 2. Center Moriches 3. Mattituck
Center Moriches and Wyandanch have three common non-league opponents. Wyandanch beat Harborfields, 59-27 and Harborfields defeated Center Moriches, 66-60. Both teams lost to Shoreham-Wading River and Whitman.
"All the teams we played in non-league were playoff teams," Wyandanch coach Warren Fuller said. "Us and Center have a common opponent in Harborfields. I think we threw a wrench into the seeding committee’s job. These teams are so evenly matched. Being the No. 1 seed is huge. I’d rather sit back and wait. I think our kids have earned the No. 1 seed."
