The Reeds' five-bedroom, three-bathroom ranch is of brick and stone construction and was built in 1962. It sits on two verdant acres in the center of the Smithtown community. Kathy says of the house:

"I love the log cabin Adirondack look. In the living room and den, we have pine walls and beams. We have a stone fireplace in the living room and a full wall of stone with multiple sliding glass doors in the den. . . . We use the house as a four-bedroom. The fifth . . . is used as an office. . . . The whole house was gutted and additions added . . . 12 years ago. . . . The kitchen has . . . all custom-hickory cabinets and a center island [that we use] as a breakfast bar. The three bathrooms have custom glass block showers. And a large Jacuzzi is in the master bath."

Kenny adds: "It is a two-acre, parklike setting. It has a natural pond, fully stocked with koi, bass, sunnies and turtles. It is fed by a stream that runs . . . the entire length of the property. . . . To get from the house to the yard, you have to cross one of two bridges to get to a football-field-size yard. We have gorgeous shrubs and ornamental trees."
