Williams' trey leads Hauppauge girls win

Julie Williams (13 points) hit a three-pointer with 1.8 seconds left to lift Hauppauge over Hampton Bays, 48-45, Friday night in the Hampton Bays Classic girls basketball tournament. Lindsey Alfano had 15 points and eight assists for the Eagles and Kasey Kephart had 10 points, eight rebounds and four blocks. Theresa Carey scored 13 points for Hampton Bays.

Islip 43, Longwood 41: Eighth-grader Alyssa Murphy scored Islip's final four points, including a three-pointer with 48 seconds left that gave the Buccaneers a one-point lead in a non-league game. Shannon Duer scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for Islip. Jessica Kalbfeisch and Kiersten West each scored 10 points for Longwood.
