Deborah Wolfson of Commack has received the

SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching for commitment to exceptional teaching and mentoring. Wolfson is an assistant professor of mathematics at Suffolk County Community College and a liaison to the college's Excelsior Program, a dual-enrollment program that enables high school students to enroll in college courses. She is also a member of Commack High School's Parent-Teacher Association, its Base

Management Team and its Parent Advisory Committee.
