Work on a $3-million project to revitalize Main Street in Center Moriches will kick into full gear in about two weeks, a Brookhaven Town official said.

The work started on March 14 and is set to be completed by mid July.

Construction will take place between Brookfield and Hawkins avenues, and will include new sidewalks and concrete curbs, new light poles and fixtures, 15 black iron trash receptacles and matching decorative benches, and drainage improvements.

The plan also calls for 29 diseased or damaged trees to be removed and 46 new trees to be planted.
