Residents eyeing a reduction in their property taxes can learn how to challenge their assessments during public workshops this week.

Nassau County Legis. Robert Troiano (D-Westbury) said in a statement that 78 percent of people who challenged their assessments in the county last year won.

Two workshops will be held this week. The first will take place Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Westbury Recreation Center, 360 Post Ave. The second will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. at Lakeview Public Library, 1120 Woodfield Rd., Rockville Centre.

A third workshop is scheduled for March 26 at 7 p.m. in the Hempstead Library Community Room, 115 Nichols Court.

Residents are asked to register by contacting the legislator’s office at 516-571-6202.
