Home to Haiti: About this project
Health reporter Ridgely Ochs has been with Newsday since 1979. Last year, she wrote “The Test,” the newspaper’s project about Nassau University Medical Center, and she helped cover Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Photographer J. Conrad Williams Jr. has been with Newsday for more than 20 years. His photographs accompanied Newsday’s “Alzheimer’s: The love and the heartbreak” last year. He has worked on assignment in Sudan and Rwanda (his photos illustrated the newspaper’s 2005 Pulitzer-Prize winning story about Rwanda).
