Paraguay president has prostate surgery
(AP) — Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo underwent a successful prostate operation on Friday and will be recovering for several days, his office announced.
Communications Minister Augusto Dos Santos said the 58-year-old president is expected to leave the hospital on Saturday and start resuming work early next week with a limited schedule.
Lugo's office distributed photos showing him smiling from a bed at the Italian Hospital in the capital, Asuncion.
The president's personal physician, Nestor Martinez, said the operation dealt with a non-cancerous swollen prostate. "In a few days he will return to normal life."
