Wrestlemania 27 predictions: Cody Rhodes vs. Rey Mysterio

Alfonso: Mysterio can usually be relied upon to deliver a show-stealing performance on the Mania's undercard. And, given enough time, he may be able to do the same this year with Cody Rhodes. Although lost in the shuffle of some far bigger matches, Rhodes and Mysterio have quietly delivered a compelling and well-told storyline on the Smackdown brand. Rhodes has been doing some of his best work since arriving in WWE as the crazed narcissist with vengeance on his mind. This feud, too, can likely go at least another month or two. But, still, I’ll pick Mysterio to win it, if only to give all the mask-wearing kiddies in the audience a feel-good moment. Rhodes shouldn’t have a hard time getting his heat back at the next Smackdown taping.

Pick: Mysterio

Anthony: Rey will take the win on this one. I have a lot of heels winning so far so this match seems appropriate for a face walking out as the winner. I think Rhodes has all the ability in the world to succeed, especially on Smackdown, which lacks in star power. I just don’t think this is the time right now. His Wrestlemania moment will have to wait. Giving Rey the win is always a safe bet for the WWE. It makes a lot of young fans happy.
