Over the Limit is this Sunday on pay per view. I'm pretty excited, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't more excited for this week's Raw. It was announced this past week that the new general manager of Raw will be announced on Monday after Over the Limit.

I have fallen out of favor with the idea of general managers, but once I started to think about the possible candidates for the job I have started to get excited.

Here's a list of names I have come up with that could once again make the general manager's job relevant again in the WWE.

Likely:

Shawn Michaels: I was tempted to move HBK to the “maybe” category, but the more I think about it the more I can see him next week on Raw. We all know that his career is not totally over. HBK still has it in the ring and he still has the drive to be a star on TV every week. Also, by being the general manager, it's only a matter of time before he gets his hands dirty and someone challenges him to a match. Welcome back HBK!

Dusty Rhodes: He works backstage, has a great personality, and the fans love him. Not my ideal choice for the job, but he could pull it off.

Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase: Same as Dusty but the interesting element is the fact that his son is a rising star on the Raw brand.

Maybe, but don't hold your breath:

Bret Hart: He will either lose or drop the U.S. Title in the next few weeks and if the WWE wants to keep him around this is the perfect position. My main problem with Hart is he cannot create any excitement on the microphone and that's the main job of a GM on Raw. But this is the beloved Hitman and it would be great to have him on Raw every week. Bret looks like he would be okay with the traveling as long as he doesn't have to appear at any house shows, which GM's rarely do.

A McMahon: Vince? Stephanie? It's possible. I wouldn't be crazy about Vince since he is the chairman and being a GM would be beneath him. Stephanie would be a welcomed change to Raw. It's been years since she has been on TV weekly for WWE programming.

Very unlikely but would be very interesting:

Paul Heyman: He held the position for Smackdown a few years ago and did a hell of a job. He's one animated personality that can add a lot of color to Raw. I would much prefer him in a booking role with the WWE, but that's not going to happen. I'm not sure what Heyman's relationship is what Vince, but I do know Stephanie has no love for Heyman at all.

Jim Ross: Good ole JR has recently expressed his dislike for the GM position on his blog and I agree with him. It's completely played out. However, Jim Ross as GM would be a big change from what were used to in this position.

I don't think JR would be great in this position because the GM of Raw has to be somewhat of a tweener and JR is too over with the fans. Plus, we've all seen JR play a heel and it's not pretty, comical, but not pretty.

My pick for GM: Bring back Shawn Michaels. Before you know it Wrestlemania will be here and HBK will be booked in a match.
