One of WWE's marquee events is heading back to the Garden State.

WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view will take place at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Aug. 23, 2015, the company announced in a news release Monday morning.

WWE had previously announced that SummerSlam would be returning to the New York-New Jersey area after six years at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. WWE's biggest show of the year, WrestleMania, will be held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, the new home of the San Francisco 49ers, in 2015.

WrestleMania XXIX was held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford in 2013, hosting a crowd of more than 80,000 to watch John Cena beat Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in the main event.

According to the release, WWE and the New Jersey Sports and Exposition authority once again will form a Local Organizing Committee with partners that include the Meadowlands Regional Chamber, MetLife Stadium, the New York Giants and the New York Jets. Organizers stated that WrestleMania XXIX brought more than $100 million of economic impact to the region.

SummerSlam has been held at the IZOD Center three previous times, in 1989, 1997 and 2007.

Ticket information for SummerSlam will be announced in the coming months.
