Carlos Zambrano (9-6) homered and pitched six solid innings, and the streaking Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds, 11-4, Saturday.

The Cubs pounded Reds starter Johnny Cueto (7-5) for five runs and seven hits in 3 2/3 innings and have won seven straight games for the first time since Aug. 23-29, 2008.

Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips had to leave the game with a sprained right ankle after colliding with centerfielder Drew Stubbs in the fourth.

Brewers 7, Astros 5: Prince Fielder finished a triple shy of the cycle and had four RBIs and Yuniesky Betancourt had four hits as visiting Milwaukee won for the 10th time in 11 games.

Cardinals 2, Marlins 1: Albert Pujols hit a two-run homer in the first inning, then Chris Carpenter (7-8) and visiting St. Louis' bullpen made it stand up.

Athletics 8, Rays 0: Brandon McCarthy (5-5) pitched eight shutout innings and David DeJesus hit two home runs for visiting Oakland.

Tigers 4, Royals 3: Justin Verlander (16-5) won his fifth straight start for visiting Detroit.

White Sox 6, Twins 1: Brent Lillibridge homered and Zach Stewart (1-1) won his debut for visiting Chicago. -- AP
