Loren Ziegler scored the eventual game-winner for West Islip in a 14-12 win at Ward Melville in Division I girls lacrosse Monday. Ziegler's goal, with 47 seconds left in the second half, gave the Lions (6-1) a 13-12 lead. Ziegler added an insurance goal with 16 seconds left, and finished with four goals and two assists. Kylie Nowicki, who had two goals and two assists, tied the score at 12 with 1:55 to play.

Lorraine Hodgson and Kelsey Allen each added two goals and three assists, and Krista Spagnoletta made 11 saves. Rebecca Arent led Ward Melville (4-3) with three goals.

Floyd 9, Lindenhurst 6: Courtney Murphy scored four goals with one assist for Floyd (7-0). Fallon Grosso added two goals and Chelsea Sidaras made nine saves. Jessica Wharry scored four goals for Lindenhurst (4-3).

East Islip 14, Smithtown East 11: Nicole Levy scored seven goals with three assists for East Islip (6-1). Elizabeth Vetter scored all three of her goals in the second half, and Victoria Gregson had two goals and three assists. Michelle Scannell led Smithtown East (1-5) with four goals.

Hauppauge 12, Sayville 10: Jennifer Porretto scored four goals with three assists for Hauppauge (7-0), which is the last remaining undefeated team in Division II. Jenna Vinci scored three goals with an assist, and Taylor Ranftle had two goals and two assists. Kimmy Marra scored three goals for Sayville (6-2).

BOYS

Lindenhurst 11, Connetquot 8: Kyle Cropsey scored three goals for Lindenhurst (4-3). Lindenhurst had led 5-2 at halftime in the Division I matchup. Chris Caiazza had two goals and two assists, and Joe Hergenhan made eight saves. Nick Franco and Steve Zolezzi each scored two goals. John Zullo led Connetquot (4-2) with three goals.

Patchogue-Medford 13, Longwood 12: Kyle Stockton, who finished with three goals and an assist, scored the winner with 2:20 left in the second half for Patchogue-Medford (2-4). Patchogue-Medford had trailed 12-9 with 4:11 to play. Kevin Gerard won four consecutive faceoffs and Tyler DeLuca scored twice in a 25-second span to make it 12-11, and then Scott Reece scored on a feed from Brian Mannion to tie it with 2:41 left. DeLuca finished with five goals and two assists and Reece had three goals and two assists. John Morgan led Longwood (1-5) with five goals and an assist.

Huntington 9, Cold Spring Harbor 4: John McGrath made 12 saves and Jack Castelli, Dan Plant and Jim Roselle each scored two goals for Huntington (4-2) in non-league action. Chris Moriarty led CSH (4-3) with three goals and an assist.

Baldwin 7, Plainedge 5: Mike Ainbinder scored three goals for Baldwin (5-4). Tyler Harper had two goals and an assist and Brett Dadiego made 17 saves. R.J. Rossi led Plainedge (1-6) with three goals.
