Nassau County can nickel and dime all it wants, but if the county really wants to balance the budget, it has to tackle the elephant in the room [“Nassau budget grows ever worse,” Editorial, Nov. 21].

Nassau is expected to spend $69 million in 2016 for police overtime. That doesn’t even count how much that overtime inflates pensions. Get rid of the overtime!

Get with it, Nassau Interim Finance Authority. Grow a backbone.
