Letter: Gov’t doesn’t get drug price growth

The letter “Social Security isn’t keeping up with costs” [Dec. 20] pointed out the lack of concern the system has for seniors. This is the gospel truth.
My neighbor, who has been taking the same generic drugs for years, just received an increase to $25 per month from $7.10. If the government can’t figure it out, that is more than a 250 percent increase.
I can only imagine what other seniors and retirees are going through when they receive these drug increase notices.
I realize residents of Chappaqua and Trump Towers might not even notice or care, but the real world is at the receiving end of the candidates’ rhetoric, and both parties should take notice real quick.
