Letter: Gun might be needed to stop an intruder
A letter writer described a conversation he had with a man who drove him to a train station ["Gun ownership and killing," Just Sayin', March 28]. He said the driver swerved to avoid a deer; however, later the driver said he possessed three guns so he could shoot if someone broke into his home.
The writer seemed puzzled that a man would swerve to avoid a deer but shoot an intruder in his home. I would never want to shoot a deer or a human; however, if a deer broke into my home wearing a mask and carrying a gun, I guess I would have no choice.
