The April 5 letter "Caithness II plant benefits the few" said the only people who want a new power plant are taxpayers from the Longwood school district. However, many Longwood taxpayers are aware of the potential for an increase in electric rates if this boondoggle goes forward and oppose it.

I live in the district and my first reaction to the "support" demonstrated at a firehouse rally on March 25 was that the desire for a plant that would generate millions of dollars for the district was pure greed -- the ratepayers be damned, including those of us in Longwood.
