Columnist Dan Janison's article "Just blame it on the 'last guy' " [News, March 2] was notable for one glaring omission. Nowhere does Janison mention the name Barack Obama.
Since taking office more than three years ago, the president has continually cited his predecessor, George W. Bush, as the cause of all ills which plague his presidency, repeatedly referring to the problems he "inherited." He ignores the fact that Bush inherited a dangerous condition incompetently handled by his predecessor. Bill Clinton's record on dealing with terrorism, beginning with the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and culminating with the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, was pathetic.
In my view, Bush's tax cuts brought on an economic recovery. And too many forget that, when our country was attacked on Sept. 11, 2001, Bush went to war and did not waste time with half measures. He did not pussyfoot with our enemies by issuing apologies, as Obama has done.
Bush may have left behind a tough set of problems, but Obama has made them far worse.
