It seems that county government soon will be not much more than a conduit that collects my money in the form of taxes and sends it to a private company. I read about the agreement to have a New Jersey subsidiary of a Paris-based private operator run Nassau County's sewer system ["Nassau's sewer switch," News, Jan. 3]. It's not enough that previously contracted outsourcing sent my tax money to states outside New York, but now my money will ultimately go to a company based in France. How is this helping the economy of our county?
